REGISTRATION

    GIRL SCOUTS DESIGN STUDIO™ does not require that you join in order to view its products, practice with our design tools, and view the Gallery. Joining is required to use certain interactive features such as saving a design, which is a user’s private space on the site, participating in contests, making a purchase and communicating in any internal forum.

    In order to participate on this Website, we request certain personally identifiable information from you on the “Join” site, including the creation of a unique user name and password that contains no personal information.   During registration you are required to check a box if you are under 13 years of age so that we may contact the parent or guardian you provide by email to request permission for you to use the site.   Other contact information (such as name and email address) is used to contact you about the services on our site in which you have expressed interest, advise you of contest winners and making you aware of any changes to your “MYGSDS”.   Most importantly, so that when you register with GIRL SCOUTS DESIGN STUDIO™ you are not anonymous to us.

    When joining, you can choose to opt into our newsletter as well as periodic email updates from our Website regarding new products, and upcoming contests.

Orders: If you purchase a product or service from us, we request certain personally identifiable information from you on our order form. You must provide contact information (such as name, billing address, email and shipping address) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date and the 3 digit security code). We use this information for billing purposes and to fill your orders. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you.

Newsletter: If you wish to subscribe to the GIRL SCOUTS DESIGN STUDIO™ newsletter, we will use your name and email address to send the newsletter to you. Out of respect for your privacy, we provide you with a way to unsubscribe. Please see the “Choice and Opt-out” section.

Choice/Opt-out: We provide you the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having your personally identifiable information used for certain purposes, when we ask for this information. For example, if you purchase a product or service from us but do not wish to receive any additional marketing material from us, you can indicate your preference. If, at a later date, you no longer wish to receive our newsletter and promotional communications, you may opt-out of receiving them by following the instructions included in each newsletter or communication or by emailing us at info@mygsds.com.

If you choose to use our email referral service to tell a friend about our site and products, we will ask only for your friend’s email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting them to visit the Website. GIRL SCOUTS DESIGN STUDIO™ retains this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program. Your friend may contact us at info@mygsds.com to request that we remove this information from our database.

COPPA LAW & CHILDREN UNDER 13

GIRL SCOUTS DESIGN STUDIO™ is committed to protecting the privacy of children and does not knowingly or intentionally collects personal information online from children under the age of 13.
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) protects the personal information of children under the age of 13. NOTE TO PARENTS ON OUR PRIVACY POLICY

Girl Scouts Design Studio is committed to providing a safe, secure, and fun online experience for children who visit our site. We are dedicated to safeguarding any personal information collected online and to helping parents and children have positive experiences on the Internet. Consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, we will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without prior verifiable parental consent.
Parents can revoke their consent and ask that information about their children be deleted from the site by contacting via e-mail. To do this or to review personal information collected from children, we must verify the identity of the requesting parent. When a parent revokes consent, we will stop collecting, using, or disclosing information from that child. To respect the privacy of parents, information collected and used for the sole purpose of obtaining verifiable parental consent or providing notice is not maintained in retrievable form by the site if parental consent is not obtained after a reasonable time.
Girl Scouts believes it is good policy not to collect more personally identifiable information from children under 13 than is necessary for them to participate in our online activities. In addition, be aware that the sites that are targeted to children under 13 are prohibited by law from collecting more information than they need.

Importantly, the GSDS website is a place that reflects the great talents and core values of Girl Scouts of the USA Mission. That means, inappropriate content will not be allowed on the site. We ask that girls and those within the GSUSA community use the site freely, but respect the terms and conditions stated in the Terms and Conditions agreement.

SITE OWNERSHIP

Lion Brothers Company, Inc. and Girl Scouts of the USA® are the sole owners of any information collected on GIRL SCOUTS DESIGN STUDIO™.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS POLICY

GIRL SCOUTS DESIGN STUDIO™ provides an automated internet-based service to users, which they use to design tee and sweatshirts that can be sold to buyers who shop on the sight. We have to forbid users from creating designs to that infringe third party intellectual property rights such as copyright, trademark, trade dress and right of publicity. We encourage intellectual property rights owners to contact us if they believe that a user of GIRL SCOUTS DESIGN STUDIO™ has infringed upon their rights. When advised that a trademark holder’s rights are being infringed by one of our users we will (in our discretion) advise the user that the charges of intellectual property rights infringement have been made and remove the content from the site until the issue is resolved. If a user continues to infringe on the rights of intellectual property owners we will terminate the user's access to our services.
If it is believed that a user of our service has infringed upon the intellectual property rights of a trademark or copyright, please provide our Legal Team with a notification that contains the following information:
